Reese’s Brownies

Published September 19, 2012 by thepinkgourmet

Oh, Oh, Oh!!  I don’t know what else to say. If you like peanut butter & chocolate then this is the brownie for you….. They are moist and melt in your mouth.  These will take you some time to make but they are well worth it. If you want to be the hit of the party make and take these with you. 🙂  I decided to take these to school today and leave one in some of the teacher’s boxes as a sweet treat and surprise.  I was hoping to put a smile on their faces.

Peanut Butter and Chocolate are a match made in heaven to me! These are so amazing and delicious . . . if you love Reese’s, then you will love these!

1 cup butter, melted
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cocoa
2 Tbsp vanilla
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 cups flour
1 cup peanut butter

Combine melted butter and cocoa, add sugar, then eggs. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bake in glass 9×13″ pan at 350 degrees for 22-25 minutes.

Frosting:
1/4 cup butter, softened
4 oz cream cheese
3-4 Tbsp whipping cream
1/4 cup cocoa
1 Tbsp water
Approx 1 lb powdered sugar

Beat butter, whipping cream, water, and cream cheese in a bowl on medium speed until fluffy. Gradually beat in cocoa and powdered sugar until smooth. Spread over cooled brownies.

Topping:
3/4 cup salted peanuts, chopped
1/2 bag small Reese’s peanut butter cups, quartered
3/4 cup Peanut Butter chips

Sprinkle evenly over frosted brownies. Enjoy! 🙂

OK, let’s get started!  Melt your butter and then stir in the cocoa.

Stir well, till the chocolate is fully incorporated.

Add your sugar to the chocolate mixture.

Look how rich this looks!

It’s time to add the eggs.

Mix until smooth and creamy.

Now add the peanut butter, flour, and salt.

Oops, don’t forget to add your vanilla.  I almost did…..

Stir this up well.  The batter will be really thick so it may take some time to get it all mixed up.

Put the batter in a greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake for about 25 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

While the brownies are baking I went ahead and cut my Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Once the brownies are fully cooled it is time to make the frosting.  Put your softened butter, cream cheese and whipping cream, and water in a large bowl.

Cream until light and fluffy.

Add the cocoa to the cream cheese and butter mixture.

Beat until smooth.

Slowly add the powdered sugar.

Cream until you get the desired consistency.

Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies.

Sprinkle the chopped up Reese’s  Peanut Butter Cups and the peanut butter chips over the frosting. I left out the chopped peanuts.

Now you know why I said Oh, Oh, Oh!  These are very rich but worth all the time it takes to make them!!!
I hope you will enjoy these as much as I did.

I give this recipe plus out of 4……
